Well-we have had an "Incredible" week. We bought our movie. And, Joey is back to being Dash about the house. He is convinced that Jeff is Mr. Incredible, I am Elastigirl, and Gina is Violet. He wouldn't feel that way if he saw me trying to do Yoga yesterday morning! My body just wouldn't bend the way it was supposed to! I met my sister for the 9:00 am class. It was Joey's first time in the play room. He did well, but when I returned, I had one of those heart breaking moments. I saw him trying to fit into this click of boys. It took all I had not to corner those little snobs and say, "PLAY WITH MY SON!!!" I'm sure we all experience this as parents. I know I have to let him work this out, but I just am too used to protecting him. I know I went through the same thing with Gina. It is just amplified with Joey. Besides, his unwillingness to go in the playroom before was just another great excuse for me not to exercise. I think he could sense my fear because when we were on our way home he said to me, "Mommy, now I'm INFECTED!" I said, "What do you mean Joe?" He said, "One of those kids was sick and now I'm INFECTED!" I said, "I think you'll be fine (while I worried secretly)." To which he said, "JUST KIDDING!" Real funny, Joe....real funny! I guess he'll keep me guessing and laughing at life through these little challenges. This morning he said to me, "I'm glad I picked you for my mom!" I'm glad too, because my little champ makes all the worry worth it, every day.
