Well-here is the update. Joey finished his 4th round of chemo yesterday. He is doing very well. Today, he went out in the yard and sprayed Grandma Scorpion with his web blaster. Grandma was a great sport as Joey drained 2 cans of silly string on her. Later, when the work day ended, Gina cruised Joey around in the hummer while Mom and Dad did yard work. Our neighbor looked over the fence and said, "It looks so normal over there!" It felt normal too.
Now, the upset for the week. We are no longer going to St. Judes. They have temporarily halted their stem cell program. And, we are not being told/guaranteed when it will reopen. Our oncologist has advised that we could run a risk of not obtaining enough stem cells if we wait for the program to reopen. This is a gamble we cannot take. So, we are going to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. We are confident this is the best choice for Joey. We will be leaving for 3-5 days around the 8th of this month for the harvest. We will then return for 2 more chemo rounds and the surgery on the remainder of the tumor. Following that, we will be in Cincinnati for 2 months this summer. All are welcome.
Thanks to Mary Ann Hayden and ALL the volunteers at this weekend's fund raiser. It was a beautiful day filled with beautiful people. You are all wonderful.
We'll keep you posted. New pictures to come soon as well. Love to all.
