Laura asked that I let you all know Joey was re-admitted to Akron Children's this afternoon. His calcium level was very high. He also had high uric acid in the urine. They are running IV's, he will get blood and platelets, and do some testing, ie. ultrasound of the kidneys and an echocardiogram. He was to have the echo next week approaching his 100 days so this will replace it. They are expecting that his current problems might be radiation effects combined with the new drug. Laura told me he said "this is hard Mom" when they were starting the IV.
He has had a rough week and hasn't been able to eat much lately. I was with him while Laura ran home to get clothes etc. tonight. Just a couple hours of fluids started to help him. He was able to eat some for me also.
Jeff was headed home tonight from hunting to relieve Grandma Bonnie and be with Gina. I hear he got two "bucks" while hunting.
Although I know Laura was so disappointed having Joey admitted, we both think it was the best thing to help him feel better. I am not a prolific and creative writer like Laura but she wanted you to all have this update. Thanks for your conitnued prayers and support. Love Mary Ann
